What is this course about?
This course is designed to teach you best practices in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. Through the exercises in this course, you will learn how to identify students at risk for suicide, how to intervene effectively with at-risk students, and understand the necessary actions following a student suicide.
Note: All lessons and materials titled “DIG DEEPER” are required for those earning 2 CEUs (20 contact hours), and optional for those only needing 2 hours of suicide prevention training.
Time Requirements for the 20-Hour Course:
This 20-hour course uses a combination of both time requirements to maximize participation and allow time for completion of ongoing assignments and assessments. The minimum time for participant completion of this 20-hour course includes both enrollment time and the system logged-in activity time. Enrollment time consists of 20 hours working on this course over a minimum of 2 calendar days (2880 minutes = 48 hours = 2 calendar days) from the moment you start the course Pre-Test. Activity time includes 200 minutes logged into the system. Completion certificates are restricted until BOTH time requirements are completed.
