What this course is all about?
This course consists of 10 contact hours designed to help teachers create, use, and facilitate technology resources in the mathematics classroom. Learn about technology tools that will enhance your teaching and your students’ learning. During the first unit, you will look at math sites for effective classroom instruction. As you work through the second unit, you will explore Web 2.0 tools to use with your students. These are resources that can be accessed anywhere an internet connection is available. There is no cost to join and no software needed. In the final unit, Using Edmodo to Manage the Mathematics Classroom, you will create a location to stay connected with your students during in-class time and outside of the classroom. You will create a mathematics social network that is safe and exciting for students.
Time Requirements for the 10-Hour Course:
This 10-hour course uses a combination of both time requirements to maximize participation and allow time for the completion of ongoing assignments and assessments. The minimum time for participant completion of this 10-hour course includes both enrollment time and the system logged-in activity time. Enrollment time consists of 10 hours working on this course over a minimum of 1 calendar day (1440 minutes = 24 hours = 1 calendar day) from the moment you start the course Pre-Test. Activity time includes 100 minutes logged into the system. Completion certificates are restricted until BOTH time requirements are completed.
- Approved for 1.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) = 10 hours (10 clock hours)
- Approved by the Nevada Department of Education (NVDOE) as .5 CEUs for Nevada Educators
